Terms & Conditions

Last updated April 2026

1. Who we are and how to contact us

We are District5 Ltd, a company registered with Companies House in England and Wales under number 09960097, whose registered office is at Clifton House, Four Elms Road, Cardiff, S. Wales, United Kingdom, CF24 1LE ("District5"/"we"/"us"/"our").

We provide Sendhit, a desktop and web-based API testing and request management platform (the "Service" or "Platform"). In these Terms, "you" means any individual or entity that registers for or uses the Service.

You can contact us at [email protected]. For data protection and privacy matters, please contact our DPO at [email protected].

By registering for or using Sendhit, you confirm that you accept these Terms and Conditions and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

We may amend these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page. Continued use of the Service after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Privacy Policy

Your data is important to us and we take it very seriously. Our Privacy Policy sets out the terms on which we process any personal data we collect from you or that you provide to us. By using the Service, you consent to such processing and you warrant that all data provided by you is accurate at the time of input. You agree to update such data promptly if it changes.

3. Eligibility and account registration

To use Sendhit you must:

  • be at least 16 years of age;
  • provide a valid email address and a unique username (between 2 and 32 characters);
  • choose a password of at least 8 characters; and
  • verify your email address via the confirmation link we send on registration (verification tokens expire after 24 hours).

Email verification is required before you can create or join a team. You may use certain individual account features without verifying your email, but full platform functionality requires a verified account.

You must not create more than one account per person. You must not create an account on behalf of another person without their express authorisation.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to restrict the domains from which new registrations are accepted. If such a restriction is in place, you will be informed during sign-up.

4. Keep your account details confidential

Your login credentials (email address, username, and password) are personal to you and must be kept confidential. You must not share them with or disclose them to any third party.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you know or suspect that anyone other than you has access to your account, you must notify us immediately at [email protected] and reset your password without delay.

We are entitled to disable your account at any time if, in our reasonable opinion, you have failed to comply with any provision of these Terms.

Sendhit supports optional two-factor authentication (2FA) via a time-based authenticator app and single-use backup codes. We strongly recommend enabling 2FA to protect your account. Disabling 2FA or regenerating backup codes requires password verification.

You may register a public/private key pair with your account to enable end-to-end encryption of environment variables. This key pair can be registered once and cannot be replaced. You are solely responsible for the security of your private key.

5. Projects, folders, and HTTP requests

Sendhit allows you to create and manage projects that contain folders, saved HTTP requests, saved responses, and environments. You may also import existing API collections from other services.

Projects may be owned by an individual user account or by a team. You are responsible for all content you create, store, or transmit using the Service.

Cascade deletion: deleting a project permanently removes all folders, requests, saved responses, and environments within it. Deleting a folder permanently removes all child folders and requests within it. These actions are irreversible. We do not maintain backups of user content for recovery purposes.

We do not execute or proxy the HTTP requests you store in Sendhit. The requests you create and save, are executed locally on your device. You are solely responsible for any requests you choose to send to third-party APIs using the information stored in Sendhit.

6. Environments and encrypted variables

Sendhit supports per-project environments in which you can store variables, including variables marked as secret. Secret variable values are encrypted with a per-user Data Encryption Key (DEK).

If you use encrypted environments as part of a team, each team member's copy of the DEK is wrapped using their registered public key. You must have registered a key pair to access encrypted variable values in a team context.

Important: if you are the sole holder of a DEK for an encrypted environment and you reset your password, the encrypted values stored in that environment will be permanently cleared. This is a security consequence of the end-to-end encryption design. We cannot recover cleared encrypted values. You should ensure that other team members have registered key pairs and are added to environments before resetting your password if continuity of access is important.

7. Teams and collaboration

You may create a team and invite other Sendhit users to collaborate. Teams have three roles:

  • Owner: full control over the team, its projects, billing, and membership. The owner cannot be removed by other members.
  • Admin: read/write access to projects, collections, environments, and membership management (excluding billing and team deletion).
  • Member: read-only access to projects; read/write access to collections and environments they have been granted access to.

Team invitations are sent by email and must be accepted within 48 hours, after which the invite token expires. Accepting a team invite requires a verified email address on your Sendhit account.

The team owner may remove members or change their role at any time. Members may leave a team at any time from their account settings.

Real-time collaboration features (such as live project updates and request change notifications) are delivered over a WebSocket connection. Availability of real-time features depends on network connectivity and is not guaranteed.

Deleting a team permanently removes all team projects and their contents, and cancels all pending invitations. This action is irreversible and can only be performed by the team owner.

You are responsible for the conduct of all members you invite to your team. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate a team account if any member is found to be in breach of these Terms.

8. Subscription and payment terms

Individual user accounts are provided free of charge. Team features require a paid subscription.

Team subscriptions are billed on a monthly basis via Mollie, our third-party payment processor. Payment is handled entirely on Mollie's own secure checkout pages - we do not collect or store your card details on our servers or website. By proceeding to payment you agree to Mollie's User Agreement and Mollie's Privacy Statement.

Pricing is per seat, per month. The team owner does not occupy a seat; all other non-owner members each occupy one seat. Current pricing is published on our pricing page. We reserve the right to adjust pricing at any time with reasonable notice.

VAT: where applicable, VAT will be added to your subscription charge based on your billing country. If you provide a valid VAT registration number for your business, reverse charge rules may apply where permitted by law. VAT details are itemised on invoices, which are available for download by team owners and admins.

Adding seats: if you increase your seat count mid-cycle, you will be charged immediately for the additional seats for the remainder of the current billing period. The new seat count takes effect upon successful payment.

Reducing seats: you may not reduce your seat count below the number of current non-owner team members. If you remove members first, you may then reduce your seat count. Seat reductions take effect at the start of the next billing cycle.

Your subscription will automatically renew each month unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your team billing settings. Access to paid features continues until the end of the current paid period, after which your team will revert to a free status.

All payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

9. Acceptable use

You must use Sendhit only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

  • use the Service to store, transmit, or facilitate any unlawful content or activity;
  • use the Service to target, probe, or attack systems or APIs that you do not have authorisation to access;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform, its servers, or any database or system connected to it;
  • introduce viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs, or any other malicious or technologically harmful material;
  • carry out or facilitate a denial-of-service attack or distributed denial-of-service attack against the Platform or any third party;
  • attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code of the Platform;
  • use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Platform except where explicitly permitted by our API terms;
  • scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Platform without our prior written consent; or
  • use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair it.

Breaching these provisions may constitute a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and co-operate fully, including by disclosing your identity. Your right to use the Service will cease immediately upon such a breach.

You agree to indemnify District5 against any losses, damages, expenses, or other liabilities of any nature that we may suffer as a result of any breach by you of these Terms.

10. Your content

You retain ownership of all content you create and store within Sendhit, including API request definitions, folder structures, environment variables, saved responses, and any imported collections ("Your Content").

By storing Your Content on the Platform, you grant District5 a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, and transmit Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

You warrant that Your Content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, does not contain unlawful material, and that you have all necessary rights to store and use it within the Service.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of Your Content and for any credentials, API keys, or tokens you store in the Platform. We recommend using environment variables with secret masking for any sensitive values.

11. Intellectual property

We are the owner or licensee of all intellectual property rights in the Sendhit Platform and in the material published on it, including but not limited to the software, design, trademarks, and brand. All such rights are reserved.

You must not use any part of the Platform's content or materials for commercial purposes without obtaining our prior written consent.

12. Availability and suspension

We will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that the Service is available and performant, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, updates, or events outside our control.

We reserve the right to suspend or withdraw access to all or any part of the Service for business or operational reasons. Where feasible, we will provide reasonable advance notice of planned downtime, but we are not obliged to do so.

We may suspend or terminate your account without notice if you are in breach of these Terms, if your subscription payment fails and is not remedied within a reasonable period, or if we are required to do so by law.

13. Third-party services and external APIs

The Platform may contain links to or integrations with third-party services. These are provided for your convenience only. We are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of any third-party service, and the inclusion of a link or integration does not imply our endorsement.

When you use information stored in Sendhit to send requests to third-party APIs, you do so at your own risk and under the terms of those third-party services. We are not a party to any interaction between you and a third-party API and accept no liability for any consequences arising from such interactions.

Whilst we will do our best to ensure the Platform is secure, we cannot guarantee that it will be entirely free from bugs or vulnerabilities. You are responsible for configuring your own systems and using appropriate security software when accessing the Platform.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied;
  • we exclude all conditions, warranties, representations, or other terms which may apply to the Service, whether express or implied;
  • we will not be liable to you for any loss or damage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, even if foreseeable, arising under or in connection with use of or inability to use the Service or use of or reliance on any content displayed on the Service;
  • in particular, we will not be liable for loss of profits, sales, business, or revenue; loss of data; loss of anticipated savings; loss of business opportunity, goodwill, or reputation; or any indirect or consequential loss or damage.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.

15. English law will apply

These Terms, your use of the Service, and all matters connected to or arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising from, or related to, these Terms or the Service.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify you by email or by an in-app notice. The date at the top of this page reflects when these Terms were last updated. Continued use of the Service after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

17. Contacting us

For general enquiries about these Terms or the Service, please email [email protected]. We will respond to you in a timely manner, and in any event within 5 business days.

For data protection queries, please contact our DPO at [email protected]. We will endeavour to respond to data-related requests within 1 calendar month.
